George worked 20 plus years in Broadcasting, 14 of those years were with CFRN-TV (now CTV Edmonton) as an Electronic News Gathering Editor.  Some of the highlights in his career include: The 1987 Edmonton tornado coverage (CBC has Photo gallery 20th Anniversary), the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, the World Track and Field Games, and the Rick Hanson "Man in Motion" tour.  Previous to that, George co-produced and co-directed "Edmonton Alive" an entertainment talk show, and he  freelanced for CBC Television, ACCESS (Now owned and operated by CHUM), ITV (Global), and Capital Cable (SHAW).  Highlights include: The Universiade games 1983, Snowbirds flight 1984, and operation "Maple Flag" military exercises near the town of Wainwright, located in east-central Alberta.

George Co-Produced, and directed "Yoga Fits In", hosted by Gerda Krebs until 1986. He continues to follow the teachings of Yoga in his daily life from 1980 to present day.

George has participated in many charitable events throughout his career, such as: the Christmas Bureau, Crime Stoppers, ongoing contributions to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and the Lung Association. He was also invited to volunteer his services for the International Human Rights Conference in 1998 where he had the privilege of encountering many delegates from around the world.  

George was officially diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1987. He became the spokesperson for the St. Albert Chapter of the MS SuperCities Walk in 2001. In 2004, George was invited to join the newly formed Edmonton Broadcasters Club. After a brief hiatus from the MS society, George returned to the MS SuperCities Walk in 2005, as a media adviser for the Edmonton, St. Albert, and Leduc chapters.
