"I
enjoy the spontaneity and the expressionistic process involved in creating
abstract images and the freedom to experiment with color and various
mediums. My
influences are Georgia O'Keeffe, Charles Demuth, Helen Frankenthaler,
Wassily Kandinsky, and Emily Carr."
"I paint both landscape
and botanical themes alternating between abstract and representational
images. My work is inspired by nature’s endless arrangements of
line, color and form. I also enjoy exploring different ways of portraying landscapes through
creative compositions and color combinations. The prairie
landscapes, foothills, the California valleys and the colorful southwest
landscape in New Mexico are some of the locations that have inspired
my series of simplified, colorful and flowing compositions. "
